Oscar People: Gregory Peck will present the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award to Danny Kaye. This should come as a surprise to the two Montrealers who approached Kaye several years ago at Dunn’s Restaurant here, to tell him how much they admired him. Kaye hardly looked up and said, “Do you mind? Can’t you see I’m eating something?” Well, maybe he’s a rude humanitarian.
